DNS Executive Committee (2024-2025)

President
Deb Jaisi

Humble greetings everyone, I am Deb Jaisi, and I have the distinct honor to serve as the president of the Delaware Nepali Society. My professional route follows from Tribhuvan University to Asian Institute of Technology to Miami University, and then to Yale University and California Institute of Technology. I currently serve as a professor of Environmental Biogeochemistry at the University of Delaware. Since arriving in Delaware in 2010, I have been actively engaged in the Nepali community in DE and several other communities, as well as volunteer organizations and advisory boards in the US and abroad. Being within the Nepali community brings a distinct pleasure and pride by virtue of the society and the very nature of organic bonding. I live with my spouse Subie, son Sudesh, and daughter Samantha. Now, with DNS established as a most welcoming and inclusive umbrella organization, I have full faith that it bonds all DNS community members for their collective responsibility and mutual support to enhance the community’s overall well-being.

Namaste,
I am Robby (Rabi) Khanal.  I have been living in the USA since 1975 and in Delaware since 1980.  I live in Bear, Delaware with my lovely wife.  I have two children, both born in Delaware.  I also have three cute grandkids. Professionally, I work in the Information Technology field.

Although I have been living in the USA for almost 50 years, I love our Nepali culture and heritage.  I’m dedicated to the Nepali tradition and values.  In 2012, I founded the Delaware Nepali Samaj (DNS) group in Delaware. The initial primary goal of this organization was to engage our Nepali community in formal Nepali functions and events.  The goals have of course expanded since then.  I currently serve as the treasurer of DNS during the interim period.  I am committed to DNS’s goals and objectives and will fully contribute my time and resources to this organization.
